Water horn replacement hello, we have some issues with a small leak that appears to be coming from the piping around the meter In cases where i have to 'track down' a leak, i go to my nice quiet shop and begin by isolating sections of the horn beginning with the leadpipe. I believe the meter horn is the culprit

I discussed this with american water (our local water company) and they said everything that is not the meter is our property and it's up to us to change/replace it if needed. The horn on my 05 19' ht leaks like a sieve.the plasticized mesh has deteriorated and water sits in the grooves on the horn cover and eventually leaks through the horn along the back of the electronics canvas into the cuddy

While the location immediately below the windshield facing the bow is not ideal, i'm looking for suggestions on replacement horns that can utilize the existing opening. Leaks can absolutely affect intonation There are some sealing issues you may be able to address with a screw driver set (bis, g#, f/right hand alignment, c#/b/bb, to name a few) I'd recommending visually checking all of your pads/tone holes to see if you notice any that aren't sealing properly.

What will happen is a loss of bass response, as air leakage from one section of the horn to another will allow passage of sound waves as well, and there will be phase induced disruption of the primary wave passing the length of the horn, the effect could be quite benign if the leaks are small, and very serious if the leakage is pronounced. Before starting to check for leaks, do the obvious things like check piston/rotor alignment and excessive piston wear
